Foodbeast, a premier food publication that covers festivals and events across the country, has teamed up with Hansenβs to create an unique dining experience for foodies at Rooh in San Franciscoβs hip and trendy SoMa District on July 9th, 2017.

Rooh is a new Indian-fusion restaurant bringing authentic and high-end South Asian dining cuisine to the Bay Area. The modern and progressive styling of Roohβs was the perfect backdrop to this amazing event. Chef Sujan Sarkarβs has created a restaurant that embodies the color, vibrancy and culture of his homeland, with a modern and imaginative twist. The dish that best exemplifies Chef Sujanβs eclectic culinary vision is the Surf N Turf course including tandoor-spiced lobster, pork belly with sweet and sour mango achar, pickled kohlrabi, South Indian curd rice mousse.

The artisan cocktail bar is adorned with a gorgeous and colorful modern painting by local artist Ricky Watts that creates a playful and artistic ambience. Each guest was even gifted a custom-painted plate by Ricky. In collaboration with Hansenβs world-famous soft drinks, Rooh provided an array of exclusive, colorful and refreshing cocktails with eclectic and unique flavors such as a drink infused with tumeric-infused gin, fresh lime and Hansenβs Mandarin Lime Soda.

As a quirky and larger than life pairing, Psycho Donuts premiered their all natural glow-in-the-dark donuts. Custom frostings and flavors were featured, including tri-color tangerine lime, pomegranate and root beer float. The donuts glowed in the dark with the use of a black light and a Vitamin B-infused frosting.

I conversed with fascinating people like local artist Ricky Watts, Psycho Donuts owner Webster, and social media influencer Cynthia Linh. Cynthia is the founder of CynEats.com, a local food blog that I followed closely for years that has influenced my photography and food styling. Foodies and influencers mingled amidst the colorful and vibrant setting over delicious visually stimulating food and drinks. This was a food photographerβs dream event and left an indelible impression for everyone that attended.
